Note (General): [笠松遺跡要約] 史跡新田郡庁跡の西にある遺跡で、溝に囲まれた区画内に多数の建物がみられ、何らかの官衙と考えられる。今回の調査はその区画の北半部に当たる場所であり、区画溝の北西角が発見されたことから区画の規模がほぼ判明し、同時に多数の掘立柱建物が見つかっている。北側を推定東山道駅路下新田ルートが通過しているが、側溝は中世に掘り直されている。中近世には多くの溝が掘られ、扇状地末端の湧水を流して利用していた可能性がある。　 [堀廻遺跡要約] 扇状地上にあるため集落には適さない土地であり、住居は見られなかった。南部を直線的に横断する大溝は、上層に浅間B軽石が堆積しているので古代のものであり、流水の痕跡はないが用途が注目されるものである。　 [天良七堂遺跡要約] 狭小な調査区の南端に道路側溝と思われる溝の北壁が掛かっている。浅間B軽石降下後に大きく掘り直されている。北側には硬化面が広がるが、駅路の外側となるのでその性格は不明である。
