Note (General): 大阪中央環状線と府道との平面交差を解消するため、先般実施した北行車線部分の第４次調査に引き続き、南行車線部分の調査を実施した。遺跡は河内平野の中央部に位置することから、地表下3.6ｍまで掘り下げ、縄文時代晩期から江戸時代にかけての遺構・遺物を検出した。最下面から、年代測定によって縄文時代晩期以前と考えられる溝を検出した。当時大阪湾が大きく入り組んでいた頃の様子を知る手がかりが得られた。　その後弥生時代前期前半の遺物が、掘立柱建物や竪穴建物とともに出土した。さらに氷Ⅰ式併行段階の土器や筋砥石といった遺物も注目される。中期になると一帯は耕地化したようで、弥生時代後期から古墳時代にかけても同様であった。　古代の包含層から帯金具が出土し、中世以降は井戸のような掘削深度の深い遺構のみを検出した。度重なる人為的な地形改変の影響であろう。
