Note (General): [後領遺跡要約] 後領遺跡は、一宮川上流域左岸の丘陵先端に立地する。堀や厚い盛土による曲輪が形成され、16世紀代に築城された城跡を検出した。この城(刑部城)は市原市西部と茂原市を結ぶ交通の要衝に築造され、長南武田氏領国の北西の境目城の機能を果たしていたものと想定される。 [市神遺跡要約] 市神遺跡は、一宮川上流域左岸の自然堤防上に立地し、弥生時代の土坑、奈良・平安時代の竪穴住居跡、中世の掘建柱建物跡等を検出した。弥生時代中期以降、断続的ではあるが集落等が形成され、当地域に於ける低地の利用状況を考える上で貴重な成果を得た。
