Note (General): [稲荷塚遺跡要約] 本遺跡は、奈良・平安時代における大規模な集落遺跡のひとつである。隣接する小屋ノ内遺跡は下総国千葉郡物部郷の中核集落とみられるが、両遺跡が所在する台地は連続しており、本遺跡は小屋ノ内遺跡と一連の遺跡と考えられる。注目される遺物として、「下総國千・・・大今在・・・」及び「大・・・村・・・」と記載された長文墨書を持つ土師器甕がある。「千」は千葉郡を意味するものであろう。平安時代初め頃の竪穴建物から出土した。そのほか三彩托や骨蔵器と思われる灰釉陶器長頸壷・短頸壷が出土した。縄文時代では浮島系を主体とした前期の竪穴住居群が検出された。
