Note (General): [天王台西遺跡要約] 大規模区画整理事業に伴う調査で、平成元年度から平成19年度まで6次にわたる調査となった。本遺跡からは旧石器・縄文・古墳・奈良・平安・中世・近世と各時代の遺物が出土した。旧石器時代では5地点で石器群が発見され、縄文時代では早期の炉穴群とともに土器包含層（早期〜晩期初頭）が検出された。これは当時の人びとによって狩猟採集の場として利用されてきたものと推測できた。また中世の遺構・遺物から12世紀後半から13世紀前半における民衆の生活の一端が明らかとなった。
