Note (General): [飯積原山遺跡要約] 旧石器時代は、石器出土総点数が1,307点で、22か所のブロックと５枚の文化層の石器群が検出された。第3文化層は9a層上部から7層下部に生活面をもち、ナイフ形石器や台形石器を主要器種としており、折断して作出された石器の割合が多いことが特徴である。環状ブロックが形成される時期に後出する段階の良好な石器群である。黒曜石の推定産地は、すべて高原山甘湯沢群である。第5文化層は野辺山型細石刃石核を有する石器群であり、黒曜石の推定産地はすべて神津島恩馳島群である。平安時代の集落は概ね9世紀後葉を中心とした時期で、中央東寄りの台地上に展開している。台地北寄りの竪穴住居跡から人面ヘラ描き支脚が出土したほか、集落全体から「三倉」「三寺」など多数の墨書土器が出土している。掘立柱建物跡が集中する地区は3か所あり、台地南東に位置する一群は村落内寺院の可能性がある。本遺跡周辺は近世柳沢牧が所在した地区で、台地北西を中心に野馬土手やシシ穴状の土坑が残されている。シシ穴状土坑の一部から馬骨が出土している。
