Note (General): [荒野前遺跡要約] 遺跡は北総線「印旛日医大駅」の西側約300mに位置し、印旛沼に流入する師戸川の支流角田川の最深部に形成された標高25m〜30mの台地上に立地する。立川ローム第2黒色帯上部(9層上部)〜立川ローム最上部3層で6枚の文化層を確認した。第1文化層は、9層上部に生活面を持ち、1カ所のブロックが出土。第2文化層は、7層に生活面を持ち、2カ所のブロックから、箱根畑宿群の黒曜石多用した楔形石器が出土した。第3文化層は、7層上部〜6層下部に生活面を持ち、硬質頁岩･黒曜石を用いた「下総型石刃再生技法」による石器群が出土した。第4文化層は、5層〜4層下部に生活面を持ち、ナイフ型石器を主体とする石器群が出土した。黒曜石は仙台秋保1群の黒曜石が用いられていた。第5文化層は、4層下部〜4層上部に生活面を持ち、7カ所のブロックで構成されている。いわゆる、「砂川期」の良好な石器群である。石刃を素材としたナイフ形石器、彫器、掻器、削器を主体とする。嶺岡産珪質頁岩が多用されている。第6文化層は、3層上面に生活面を持ち、1カ所のブロックで構成される。細石刃石器群に対比される。このほか、黒曜石の産地同定を行い、本地域での黒曜石の石材搬入の様相を把握するための基礎データを提示できた。
