Note (General): [駒井野城跡要約] 駒井野城の前史は、旧石器時代からである。7層から安山岩を主体とする礫素材剥片の集中が検出された。縄文時代は居住地ではなく、早期陥穴を主体とした、活動の場と考えられる。以後、古墳時代後期に集落が形成された。調査区各区で、住居跡が検出されているので、台地全体に集落が展開していた可能性がある。続く奈良･平安時代も集落が展開していたが、住居跡の検出状況から古墳時代よりも地区的に集中したと考えられる。中世以降、駒井野城跡の主体として、B区の二郭地域とA区の館跡地区がある。A3区は小規模な掘立柱建物跡があるが、溝･道路跡を主体とし、H11区は堀跡のほかは明瞭な遺構はない。またA1区ではカワラケの集中地点がある。以後、館跡の主体は、B1区に移り、城としての機能停止後も、居住区域としての屋敷域を形成し、近世、近代、そして、高福寺の現代に至ったと考えられる。
