Note (General): [種ヶ谷津遺跡要約] 種ヶ谷津遺跡の性格を最も特徴づけるのは、遺物包含層出土の奈良時代の遺物である。三彩陶器小壺、皇朝十二銭、集中的に出土した土器類は、台地上に存在すると推測される遺跡の中心部分の性格を暗示するものといえよう。C地点出土の土器群は、奈良三彩小壺、斜格子･螺旋状暗文を持つ上総型の土師器坏、下野･常陸、武蔵系の土器、東海地方からの搬入品等、多系統の土器によって構成され、8世紀第3四半期に主体的な土器群であるといえる。土師器小型(模倣)土器と鉄製擬鏡の伴出は、この土器群が何らかの特殊な行為に用いられ、一括して投棄された可能性を示唆するものといえよう。
