Note (General): 立川ロームⅨ層から検出されたブロックは６か所のクラスターに区分され、環状ブロックを構成する可能性がある。縄文時代早期の炉穴は鵜ガ島台式期を中心とし、台地全体に環状に構築される。後期堀之内１式から２式にかけては竪穴住居、貯蔵穴などによって構成される環状集落が形成され、小規模な貝ブロックが形成されるほか多遺体を反復追葬したと考えられる人骨群が出土している。奈良・平安時代の遺構は８世紀から10世紀にかけて竪穴住居のほか、掘立柱建物群や土器焼成遺構が検出されている。下総国府から常陸、相馬方面へ通じる古代東海道相馬路が至近にあり、葛飾郡桑原郷を構成する集落の一つであったと考えられる。
