「蒋山万寿寺」は、徳治元年(1306)に豊後国守護大友貞親が筑前国博多の承天寺住持であった直翁智侃を開山に招いて建立した禅宗寺院である。万寿寺は豊後府内で最大規模の敷地を有し、室町時代には十刹に列せられるような、西日本を代表する禅宗寺院のひとつとなる。兵火や火災による寺院の被災は数度に達しており、天...
