Note (General): 西富岡・中島遺跡では、中世に属する大溝、溝状遺構群、段切り状遺構などの土地改変痕跡と、縄文時代中期の可能性がある集石群が重層的に発見され、少量ではあるが近世、古墳時代後期～奈良・平安時代、弥生時代後期～古墳時代前期の遺物群が出土した。本遺跡の主体時期は中世で、とくに中世前半に属する大溝(C30号溝)では杭列・柵状遺構などの付帯施設と木製品・馬歯を含む遺物集中などを検出した。また、縄文時代草創期前半に属する黒曜石製木葉形尖頭器が単独出土した。
