Note (General): 樋ノ口遺跡は加須低地の中央に位置し、利根川の右岸埋没台地上に立地する。今回の調査では、縄文時代の遺物包含層と平安時代の集落跡、中・近世の集落跡が検出された。　縄文時代は土壙や炉穴が検出され、早期から晩期にかけての遺物が出土した。　平安時代は竪穴住居跡が９軒検出され、10 世紀前半を中心とした遺物が出土した。この中には灰釉・緑釉陶器が含まれており、当時の住人の活発な経済的活動を示すものとして注目される。また、土師器焼成土壙が11 基検出されており、10 世紀前半の土師器生産の様相を表すものとして注目される。　中・近世は土壙や火葬跡、溝跡等が検出され、近世初頭の遺物が出土した。
