Note (General): 讃岐国府跡は、奈良時代に全国に設置されたとされる国府と推定される遺跡である。昭和50年代から香川県教育委員会・坂出市教育委員会などによる発掘調査が実施されているが、国府の中心施設とされる国庁をはじめとする役所群の建物等はいまだ確認・特定されていない。今回の調査では、奈良時代から鎌倉時代にかけての溝状遺構を中心とした遺構を確認した。大規模な溝状遺構SD07・08 は開削年代が古代に遡るもので、当該地域を区画する基準線の役割も果たしたものと考えられる。また、埋没途中に設けられた石敷きを伴う石列状遺構は、県内初出のものである。遺構の性格は特定できなかったが、推定南海道から108 メートルの位置にあり、方格地割を意識したものと思われる。
