- 出版タイプ： NA中条遺跡は市域を西流する猿渡川右岸の台地上に立地し、古代末に成立した「重原荘」の中心域に推定されている。平成12年度調査は平成９年度から続く一連の発掘調査の最終年度にあたり、遺跡の南西部及び北東部の区域約4,000㎡を対象に実施された。 原始では、遺跡北東部の調査区で縄文時代中期後葉の竪穴住居が１棟検出された。南東に向いた住居出入口部と思われる張り出しや、胴下半部のみであったが住居出入口部付近の埋設土器も確認された。遺構周辺には石鏃や剥片類の出土が多く、黒曜石３点の産地分析結果はいずれも長野県諏訪エリア産と推定された。 古代では、飛鳥時代から奈良時代の竪穴建物や掘立柱建物が多数検出された。竪穴建物は各調査区に高い密度で検出されたが、掘立柱建物は遺跡北東部の調査区では希薄であった。須恵器や土師器とともに製塩土器が多く出土したほか、陰刻花紋をもつ緑釉陶器が１点出土した。 中世では、鎌倉時代から室町時代の区画溝が検出された。鎌倉時代では、遺跡南西部の調査区で幅約20ｍの長方形に土地が区画されている状況が確認された。北東部の調査区でも幅約25ｍの区画が確認されたが、緩やかな弧を描くように湾曲していた。室町時代の区画溝は北東部の調査区でのみ検出されたが、鎌倉時代の区画を一部踏襲するような状況であった。日常品の山茶碗などとともに中国製の白磁や青磁といった高級品の出土もみられ、武士居館としての様相を示している。
