菜畑遺跡は、松浦杵島丘陵地の北端、衣干山より派生した温石山より東へ伸びた丘陵の先端から南側の低地部に位置する。 　菜畑地区では、縄文時代前期～中期頃の貝塚、土坑や土坑墓、溝、縄文時代晩期後半～弥生時代中期頃の水田跡や住居跡、溝、壺棺墓を検出した。北側丘陵部分に墓域、居住域を形成し、丘陵斜面には貝塚を...
