12世紀の木製塔婆が低湿地から廃棄された状態で出土した。これらは、平安時代末に作られたといわれる「餓鬼草紙」に描かれた木製塔婆と同形態で、出土資料として全国最古であり、中世の墓制や墓標の初源を知る上に極めて貴重である。板碑などの石製塔婆類はこれらの木製塔婆から材質転化したことを証明するものです。これ...
