Note (General): 那覇空港内における消防車庫の新築工事に伴ない、給排水管埋設工事予定地において発掘調査が必要となったため当該地に調査範囲（315㎡）を設定し、発掘調査を実施した。調査区内において、舗装箇所ではアスファルトを剥いだ後、調査範囲全域で磁気探査による不発弾等の爆発物の有無を確認した。その後、ドラグ・ショベルにより1ｍほど堆積した客土の除去を行った。客土以下約15㎝～30㎝の遺物包含層に関しては、人力掘削を行い、遺物の取上げと遺構の検出を行った。その過程で遺物及び遺構の検出状況や地層の堆積状況の実測図作成および写真撮影を実施した。調査区は3工区に分けて調査を行ったが、第1工区では明確な遺構等を確認することはできなかった。これは戦後の造成によるものだと考えられた。第2・3工区では様相は若干異なるが、耕作に伴うと想定できる工具痕や植栽痕を多数確認することができた。また、土層堆積状況について理解を深め、遺跡の解釈をスムーズに行うために大阪在住の自然地理学の専門家より調査指導を受けた。
