Note (General): 調査地は、陶工の住宅として国指定重要文化財に指定されている新垣家住宅の敷地南東端に位置する箇所である。狭小な範囲の調査であったため限定的ではあるが、調査の結果、石積、石敷、石組暗渠といった遺構や多量の沖縄産陶器や窯道具が確認され、遺構の構造や土層の堆積状況を把握することができた。石組暗渠は表土から約1ｍ下に位置しており、琉球石灰岩礫を並べて溝の壁面が構築され、上面には蓋石が被せられている。北から南方向に傾斜して敷地外へとつながる形状を有しており、登窯と関連した遺構と考えられる。　また石敷は20～30㎝大の琉球石灰岩礫を敷き詰めており、上面は摩耗しており滑らかである。床面として明黄褐～黄橙色のシルトを4㎝の厚みで敷き貼床としている状況がみられる。そのことから復元されている3基の沈殿池と連なった遺構であることが確認された。沈殿池に連なっている石積遺構、石敷遺構、石留遺構は、製陶の一工程である水簸に関連する遺構と推定される。また年代的には同遺構北に所在する東ヌ窯が成立した18世紀中頃から19世紀前半頃に対応するものであり、東ヌ窯と水簸関連施設はほぼ同時期には成立していたことが示唆される。
