Note (General): 本遺跡からは旧石器時代から中・近世にわたる遺構や遺物が多数検出された。本書は旧石器時代から奈良・平安時代を対象としたものである（中・近世編は既刊）。遺構の主体は弥生時代後期で、竪穴住居跡のほか方形周溝墓なども検出されている。これまで文脇遺跡については、数次にわたる調査が行われているが、今回新たに、台地北端部から弥生時代中期の竪穴住居跡と方形周溝墓が検出されたことは、弥生時代の集落立地を考える上で特筆される。　また、掲載されたすべての土器を対象に種実圧痕の有無を確認し、圧痕についてはレプリカ法を用いて種実の同定を行った。
