Note (General): 新屋宮ノ段遺跡では、縄文時代の配石遺構5基と集石6基、貯蔵穴14基、陥穴2基を検出し、縄文時代早期から前期の土器が多数出土した。中世の遺構は、経塚と見られる石組遺構を検出し、内部から瓦質土器の壺が出土した。また、周辺からは和鏡が2面出土しているほか、銭貨の集中を確認した。調査区の中央部では大型の建物2棟が整然と建てられており、鉄滓の出土から、製鉄に関する建物と考えられる。その他に製鉄に関する遺構は、精錬鍛冶炉1基を検出した。近世には丘陵の先端部に靑龍神が建てられており、近代まで複数回の建替を行いながら維持されていた。近代には、調査区の近くで燻瓦の生産が行われており、調査区内からは、巨大な粘土採掘坑と道路の路盤に転用された達磨窯の部材が多数出土した。
