Note (General): 遺跡は庄川右岸の射水平野低地部に形成された微高地上に位置する。弥生時代終末期の溝からは大量の土器が出土し、地形的にみて溝より北側に展開していたと推測される居住域の南限を示すものと考えられる。同時期の粘土採掘坑や時期は不詳ながら玉作り関連の遺物も確認されており、多様な生産活動を行っていたことがわかる。弥生土器については今回の調査と過去に周辺で収集された資料を含めて種実圧痕の調査を行った。その結果、イネの他に全国的に圧痕の検出例が少ないメロン仲間の種子が確認された。中世には幅２ｍ、長さ25ｍ程の溝が等間隔に平行し掘削され、低湿な地盤の改良を試みた痕跡と推測される。水路とみられる溝内やその周囲からは動物遺体（ウマ歯、ウシ骨）が集中して出土する箇所があり、意図的に遺棄する行為がなされていた。近世ではさく状遺構が検出され、引き続き耕作地として利用される。
