Note (General): 出雲国分寺跡は松江市竹矢町に所在する。平成29年～令和元年にかけて、伽藍地北東部と講堂西側の発掘調査を実施した。伽藍地北東部の調査では、国分寺建設に伴う整地層思われる層が検出された。講堂西側の調査では、丘陵を削平して形成した平坦面を検出した。この平坦面は直上を、瓦を多量に含む8世紀後半～9世紀前葉頃の包含層が覆っており、国分寺の建設に伴い形成された可能性が高い。この平坦面は講堂周辺で一定した高さであり、国分寺建設にあたって東西に水平に整地されたことが明らかとなった。
