Note (General): 遺跡は多々良川下流域南岸の低丘陵上の標高７ｍ付近に立地する。７世紀代を中心として、掘立柱建物、土坑、井戸、石敷遺構、溝等を検出した。特徴的な遺物として、朝鮮半島系遺物の有溝把手付土器が５点出土している。博多湾沿岸で５点以上出土した遺跡は、ミヤケ関連施設が検出されている有田遺跡（福岡市）、那津官家設置を契機に出現して渡来人を擁する手工業集落と評価される薬師の森遺跡（大野城市）などに限られる。本遺跡に隣接する内橋鏡遺跡で新羅土器が出土していることをみても、渡来人の存在が想定されるところである。その他、鉄製大型釣針、大型土錘、馬歯等の遺物は、保存食生産や馬匹管理に関わる可能性も考えられる。７世紀後半には包含層が堆積して集落は終息するが、その後に夷守駅家の可能性が考えられる官衙遺跡の内橋坪見遺跡が近隣に造営され、本遺跡周辺にも官衙関連施設が展開している様子を、転用硯、水滴、瓦、製炭土坑などからうかがうことができる。
