Note (General): 林城跡の外郭位置を調査し、縄文時代中期(阿玉台Ⅲ式～加曽利EⅡ式)、古墳時代～平安時代の集落跡、中世の墓域を検出した。　縄文時代では阿玉台Ⅳ式段階の縄文土器を主体とした竪穴建物跡1軒、阿玉台Ⅲ式～加曽利EⅡ式段階の土坑95基を確認した。　また、古墳時代から奈良・平安時代に属する竪穴建物跡19軒を検出し、内訳は6世紀中葉3軒・後葉3軒、6世紀代1軒、7世紀中葉1軒・後葉1軒、7世紀末葉から8世紀初頭2軒、10世紀中葉1軒・後葉1軒、10世紀代1軒、11世紀前葉2軒・中葉1軒、次期不明2軒で、部分的な断続期を挟みながらも、同地に集落が営まれ続けたことがわかった。　さらに、調査区東側では段切り状遺構が確認され、同遺構の内側には16世紀から17世紀を中心とする土坑墓を中心とした関連土坑が13基展開し、17世紀に調査区周辺が墓域として土地利用されていたことがわかった。　加えて、墓域に近接しては土師質土器を合わせ口にして5組配置した土坑を検出し、出土状況から地鎮遺構と考えられる。調査区外には元禄6年の墓石があり、調査区周辺に近世の寺院が存在した可能性が窺える。本調査で出土した墓域を含めて、近世の寺院に関連した付属遺構であることが想定されている。
