Note (General): 当地は標高７～ 18 ｍの斜面部に位置する。今回の調査地は標高７～８ｍの斜面部低位にあたり、古墳時代から奈良時代（７～８世紀）の竪穴建物跡や中世の溝等を検出した。遺物は、人面墨書の土師器甕、墨書「八」の須恵器坏、土師質土器（内耳鍋）等が出土している。既往の調査を踏まえると、古墳時代前期に標高11 ～ 18 ｍの斜面部高位に集落が形成され、その後集落は一時断絶し、７世紀になると斜面部高位から低位に集落が再形成されるようになり、８世紀へ継続する。集落は10 世紀前半で途絶えるが、中世になると堀を持つ城館として機能する。
