Note (General): 散野遺跡は，涸沼川に面した標高28 ～ 29 ｍの台地上に立地し，調査の結果，縄文時代及び古墳時代終末期から奈良・平安時代に営まれた集落跡と判明した。縄文時代は後期・堀之内式期を中心として生活の痕跡が確認され，その後の空白期を経て７世紀後半に再び集落として活動が再開する。奈良・平安時代の集落は８～９世紀代にかけて継続的に機能し，９世紀第２四半期から第４四半期に盛期を迎えていたことが理解されるが，10 世紀代に入り急激に遺構数が減少し断続的となる。そして10 世紀第３四半期を最後に集落としての終焉を迎える。次に生活の痕跡が出現するのは近世で，墓域として利用されている。
