Note (General): 大高台遺跡では，弥生時代中期後葉から後期前葉，古墳時代は４世紀と６世紀，奈良・平安時代は８世紀後葉から10世紀中葉にかけての集落跡を確認した。中世から近世の遺構は，13世紀後葉から17世紀にかけてのもので，当地に伝承される妙法寺跡の可能性がある。妙法寺の開基者と伝わる僧「日弁」の名が記された土師質土器小皿のほか，輸入陶磁器類が出土しており，在地の有力者との結びつきの強い寺院であったと考えられる。北久保B遺跡は，古墳時代前期から室町時代にかけての集落跡で，最盛期は古墳時代中期である。古墳時代の遺構から出土している土師器片は南東北系の影響がみられる。調査区は台地縁辺部で遺跡の北西端にあたり，遺跡の中心は調査区より東側に広がり，集落の外周域に位置すると想定される。
