沢口遺跡は、荒川左岸に広がる櫛挽台地南縁に位置する縄文時代中期後半を中心とする集落跡である。これまでの発掘調査の成果から、水利に乏しい扇状地性台地ではあるが、東西方向に微高地が発達し、埋没谷に沿って小規模な集落が点在する景観が復元されている。今回の調査でも、浅い埋没谷を中心に広がる縄文時代中期末葉の...
