Note (General): 明科遺跡群古殿屋敷は、犀川右岸の河岸段丘上に所在する。平成23 年（2011）の第1 次発掘調査で、平安時代の木棺墓を検出し、墓壙内から青銅製八稜鏡や灰釉陶器・土師器等の副葬品が出土した。今回の第3 次発掘調査では、第1 次調査区に隣接する位置を調査し、新たに平安時代の土壙1 基を検出した。このことから、古殿屋敷は平安時代には複数の墓が造られ、墓域となっていたことが判明した。また、第3 次調査では方形柱穴列や掘立柱建物跡も見つかっている。
