Note (General): 縄文時代・古墳時代・平安時代・中世以降の複合遺跡で、縄文時代の土坑、古墳時代後期から平安時代の住居跡、中世以降の土坑や溝跡などが検出されている。遺物は縄文時代は前期黒浜式や十三菩提式、中期は勝坂式、加曽利Ｅ式、古墳時代から平安時代は土師器や須恵器、中世以降は土師質土器、陶器、磁器などが出土している。特に７世紀中葉の住居跡は散在的に２軒（27・29 号住居跡）検出されているが、９世紀中葉から末の３軒（30 ～ 32 号住居跡）はほぼ同一位置に重複している。　中世以降は溝跡や土坑が検出されたが、特に調査区中央部から北側に走る大型の 35 号溝跡は出土遺物から中世と考えられ、調査区北側に位置する柏の城との関連が伺わせる。その他中世以降は溝跡や土坑が検出されている。今回の発掘調査において縄文時代や古墳時代、平安時代の集落等の様相が確認されたほか、中世以降における当遺跡が位置する台地上の様相や、柏の城の規模等を想定する一助となった。
