Note (General): 国庫補助事業として仙台城跡第38 ～ 41 次調査を実施した。調査の結果、第38 次調査の登城路跡では、巽門西側石垣の南側延長部を検出した。近代に大半が壊されていたが、2 段分残存している状況で、根石と石垣前面の江戸時代の整地面を確認した。第39 次調査の東丸（三の丸）土塁では、江戸時代の可能性がある畔状地形を確認した。第40 次調査の扇坂下1 次調査では、近代以降の建造物解体盛土により江戸時代の遺構は確認できなかったが、明治期以降の刻印がみられる耐火レンガが多数出土した。第41 次調査の清水門井戸石垣・巽門西側石垣の測量では、石垣の現況のデータを得ることが出来た。
