Note (General): 田原迫ノ上遺跡は，縄文時代早期～弥生時代中期を中心とした複合遺跡である。縄文時代早期では，竪穴建物跡や集石などの遺構が検出されている。また，土器は石坂式土器を主体としており，縄文時代早期中葉から早期後葉をつなぐ時期の人々の生活を知る上で貴重な資料である。弥生時代中期では，竪穴建物跡や掘立柱建物跡，円形周溝などが検出され，大隅半島中央部での当時の集落の在り方の情報をもたらす遺跡である。　立小野堀遺跡は，古墳時代の地下式横穴墓群を中心とする，縄文時代前期から古墳時代までの複合遺跡である。今回の調査で新たに地下式横穴墓３基が検出され，『立小野堀遺跡』の報告と合わせると193基の地下式横穴墓の調査報告となる。刀子や短剣などの副葬品も出土しており，南九州の古墳時代を考える上で重要な遺跡である。
