Note (General): 弥生時代後期～古墳時代前期、古墳時代中期、平安時代後期～鎌倉時代の遺構が存在することを確認している。縄文時代中期～弥生時代中期に遡る遺物も出土している。　弥生時代後期～古墳時代前期の遺構には河道と溝がある。河道からは古墳時代前期以前の遺物が多く出土している。古墳時代初頭には河道内に制水目的のしがらみ遺構が構築され、河道からの導水路と考えられる大型の溝も掘削される。庄内式期から布留０式期にかけての期間に、しがらみ遺構の造り足しや導水路の掘り直しといった管理が継続している。河道は古墳時代前期前半のうちに大部分が埋没する。　古墳時代中期には土坑群が形成される。これらは、近隣の調査で多量の遺物が出土している古墳時代中期河道の西岸から西に約数十ｍの地点に位置する。土坑からは土器を中心とする多くの遺物が出土しており、その多くは中期後半の遺物であるが、一部に中期前半の遺物を含む点は近隣の調査地点と同様である。　平安時代後期～鎌倉時代初頭、12 世紀代には調査地は耕作地となり、以後、近現代に至るまでその在り方が継続する。　古墳時代中期および平安時代後期～鎌倉時代の遺構は、南東約100 ｍの地点で実施した調査（橿教委2005－4 次調査『新堂遺跡Ⅱ』）で同時期の遺構・遺物を多数確認しており、その縁辺部にあたると理解できる。
