Note (General): 縄文時代では、晩期の土器と石器が出土している。石器の出土とその量からは、縄文時代晩期の石器製作にかかわる遺構が調査区内にあったと推測される。　弥生時代では、前期の土坑が見つかったことで、持田～岩崎一帯にある弥生時代前期の集落が調査地まで広がっていたことが確認できた。　古墳時代後期（約1,500年前）では、土坑や区画する溝が見つかったことで、持田本村遺跡・持田町３丁目遺跡の古墳時代集落の東端が、本調査地一帯になることが推測される。　近世では、陶磁器や瓦を多量に含むゴミ捨て場が見つかったことより、持田本村遺跡の調査と合わせて、調査地の北側周辺には、江戸時代に溝で囲われた屋敷が存在していたと考えられる。
