Note (General): 発掘調査は愛知県と名古屋市による史跡断夫山古墳調査事業にかかる学術調査として実施。前方部両側と後円部主軸線上付近の墳丘裾から周濠・周堤が想定される部分に調査区を設定。合わせて二重周濠の有無の確認を目的とした調査区を設定。前方部東側で周濠外側斜面と周堤？、後円部北側で周濠状の落ち込み、周堤？と外濠？、前方部西側で周濠状の落ち込み、周堤？、後円部北東で外濠？を検出。調査区で葺石、その形跡は未検出。墳丘規模の計測値はいずれも概算で、全長150m、後円部径80m、前方部長70m、前方部幅120m（従来の概算の計測値を踏襲）。円筒・朝顔形埴輪が出土。形象埴輪（蓋・家）はごく少ない。装飾須恵器（脚付連結須恵器）が出土。須恵器は東山10号窯式期かた東山61号窯式期に対応し、6世紀前半の年代を想定。古墳の裾や周囲は後世の宅地、耕作地、公園整備等による改変が著しいことが判明。
