Note (General): 本書は市内11カ所における遺跡確認調査の成果をまとめた。上野山の塚は鶴川の河岸段丘面に位置し、これまで未調査であったが積石塚古墳の可能性が指摘されていた。このうち最大規模（14m四方、高さ2.3ｍ）の塚を試掘調査した結果、築造時のものと見られる石積と袖石を確認した。しかし石の積み方は不規則で、古墳を示す遺構・遺物は検出されなかった。このため、古墳といわれていた墳丘は近・現代の塚である可能性が高いものと判断した。
