Note (General): TP-14において幕末築城時のものとみられる旧地表面を確認するとともに、TP-16において福山館期のものとみられる本丸土居石垣の根掘り跡を確認した。このTP-16の石垣根掘り跡については、グリーンタフのハツリ屑や海砂利などが確認されず、幕末築城時のものとは考えづらい。そこで、福山城「線図」（仮称）の調査区該当箇所に描かれた石垣に注目したい。『福山城見分図』では、石垣は一様に切込み接ぎ風に描かれているのに対し、「線図」では調査区該当箇所の北面石垣のみ、楕円形の石積みで描かれ、他の面は切込み接ぎ風に描かれている。そして、『松前自沖口至奉行所図』では、調査区該当箇所は野面積み石垣で描かれており、平成9年度調査で検出された井戸跡の北側で野面積み石垣がわずかに確認されていることを踏まえると、北面については、幕末築城時にグリーンタフを用いた切込み接ぎ石垣を新設するのではなく、福山館期の野面積み石垣を流用していたものと想定される。
