山ノ神Ⅱ遺跡は、縄文時代前期以降狩猟の場であったことが、陥し穴の存在から明らかになった。陥し穴は186基と多く、長期間にわたり狩りが続けられていたことが分かった。中掫テフラに覆われている陥し穴も多数見つかっている。また、住居は見つかっていないが、貯蔵穴が10基確認されたことから、短期間ではあるが小規模な集落（晩期か）が存在していたことも判明した。　古代の遺構として、簡素な造りの炭窯が９基見つかっている。十和田a火山灰に覆われているものも複数あった。　火を焚いた痕跡が１箇所見つかった。遺物も無く時期などの詳細は不明である。　遺物は殆ど出土していない。果樹・畑地による耕作の影響とみられる。
