堀切後遺跡は、縄文時代中期前葉後半～中期前半を主体とする遺跡であり、遺物の出土状況等から集落跡の一部ないし、隣接地の可能性が考えられる。他に縄文時代晩期、平安時代の遺物も見つかっていることから縄文時代中期以降、断続的に生活に利用されていた場所であったことが明らかになった。　　弥栄ⅩⅢ遺跡では、今回の調査で、縄文時代の陥し穴状遺構３基を確認した。縄文時代前期中頃に降下した十和田中掫火山灰を含むⅢ層より新しいⅡ層黒色土から掘り込まれたと見られ、他遺跡で確認している溝状の陥し穴状遺構から、縄文時代中期から後期に構築されたと推定される。また、今回の調査では出土遺物が確認されていないことから、縄文時代の調査区周辺は、土器や石器などの遺物が多く出土するような集落が存在する可能性は低く、主に獲物を獲得するための狩猟場として利用されていたと推測される。
