Note (General): 自らの事業の位置づけに鑑み事業継続性を重要と考える組織においては，事業継続計画を策定したり，事業継続マネジメントを導入・運用する比率が増加しつつある．また，その取り組みの評価の選択肢として，BS25999に代表されるような第三者認証規格を適用することにより，外部認証機関から認証取得を行い，社内のマネジメントシステムとして定着させた組織も出てきている．しかし，この第三者認証の範囲はBCMのマネジメントシステムとしての運用状況についてであって，事業継続性そのものの評価ではないため，組織を取り巻くステークホルダー（利害関係者）からの事業継続性評価に対するニーズも別途増加してきている．事業継続性そのものの評価については，これまでの研究においてもその要素分解などを試みてきたが，まだ発生していない事象群に対しての備え（preparedness）の度合いを事案発生前に評価をすることは，更なる研究が必要な状況である．このような状況において，成熟度モデルの登場と成熟度モデルを用いたベンチマーク評価の有効性が確認されつつある．本論文では，BCMをマネジメントシステムとして認証する第三者認証制度の現状，これまで公開されてきたガイドラインの導入状況を概観しながら，事業継続性評価の分野において，現在，開発・導入が進められている成熟度モデルと成熟度モデルを用いたベンチマーク評価の事例を用い，その実効性についての考察を展開する．
