移植片対宿主病（GVHD）は造血細胞移植の重要な合併症である。近年、マクロファージ（MΦ）はM1（炎症性）とM2（抗炎症性）の2つのタイプに分けられた。そこで、M2ΦのGVHD抑制効果を検証した。まず、骨髄細胞をGM-CSFとM-CSFで培養することでM1（CD38陽性）とM2（CD206陽性）の誘導に成功した。それらを用いてマウスGVHDモデルで調べたところ、M2Φは有意にGVHDを抑制し、生存率の改善がみられた。臨床・病理学的GVHDスコアでも改善を確認できた。GVHDの抑制された臓器ではM2Φが優位に多く浸潤していた。以上からM2Φ細胞療法は今後GVHD抑制が期待される結果であった。
