Note (General): ケニア・コーストプロヴィンス、旧クワレ・ディストリクトの広い地域において2006年の前半に、ほぼ時を同じくして二つの抗妖術運動、あるいは妖術使い探索運動が起こり、激しい盛り上がりを見せ、そのクライマックスで頓挫した。二つの運動は、カロロおよびマンガレと呼ばれる二人の施術師によってそれぞれ率いられていた。本論文は、この運動の経緯を目撃者の証言をもとに報告し、この運動と地方政治、発展政策とのかかわりについて論じ、１０年前後の周期で反復しているケニア海岸地方における抗妖術運動の反復を、植民地化以降の歴史的コンテクストの中でとらえなおす試みである
