本論分は、アルベルティの建築理論における表現媒体を示す言葉と概念についてlineamentumを中心に詳しく検証するものである。本検証は、アルベルティの絵画理論・彫刻理論におけるlineamentumまたそれに関係する他の言葉と概念に関する考えを参照しながら行われた。結論は以下の通りである。アルベルティの表現媒体を示す言葉と概念は、彼の彫刻理論・絵画理論も横断しながら、輪郭（lineamentum）、図形（limbus）、図面（pictura）など、その後一般化されていく表現媒体の元となる原初的な概念の成立の過程を示すものとして捉えられることがわかった。
