2018年5月18日に大阪の高校教員を対象に行った講演のノートにミスプリなどの修正を行ったものである．実数の連分数展開を説明した後，連分数展開が有限になるための必要十分条件は，その実数が有理数であることを示す．黄金数などの具体的な二次の無理数の連分数展開を例示した後，連分数展開が循環するための必要十分条件は，その実数が二次の無理数であることを主張するLagrangeの定理に証明を与える．
