本研究は、骨組を構成する部材の強度分布に応じて、地震時に生じる動的崩壊機構、各構造要素の損傷を予測する方法を確立し、部材の復元力特性の形状の影響は塑性変形によって部材強度の変化する骨組として扱って、骨組の地震応答を静的手段のみで予測する方法を開発するものである。部材の強度分布および復元力特性と骨組の地震応答の直接的因果関係を明確にすれば、部材の復元力特性に応じて耐震安全性を評価することも、また、部材の必要性能を論じることも容易となる。この研究は、少なくとも、最大耐力点までの硬化特性、最大耐力点までの塑性変形量、それ以後の劣化特性の３点を考慮した部材の保有変形性能・必要変形性能の評価基準を確立することを目的として行った。
