がん抑制遺伝子産物であるp53タンパク質は、細胞のがん化を抑える重要な働きをしている。したがってp53の働きを増強する薬剤は、がんを治療できると考えられる。本研究では、p53-Hdm2複合体形成とUbc13-Uev1A複合体形成の阻害を指標として、海洋資源からp53の作用を増強させる低分子化合物の探索を行った。さらに、当研究室において既に確立したアッセイ系を用いて、広くユビキチン-プロテアソームシステムに対する阻害物質の探索を行った。
p53 plays an important role on suppression of tumor, and the drugs which enhance the effect of p53 will treat a various cancer. In this study, we search for compounds, which inhibit the interactions of p53-Hdm2 and Ubc13-Uev1A from marine organisms.
