本研究では，光波測距儀による地盤高測量と底質浮遊輸送フラックス計測を併用し，シルト・粘土の質量に基づいた土砂収支法を提案するとともに，熊本県白川河口域の潮間帯干潟上での土砂収支に適用した．平常時には潮間帯干潟は堆積傾向を示し，河川流入シルト量の6 割が地形変化に寄与する．出水直後では干潟地形は侵食傾向を示す．以上より，出水時に河川から流入したシルト・粘土は一旦沖まで流出するが，平常時に潮汐によって沖側から運ばれ，潮間帯に再流入するプロセスが示唆された．
