古代中国の辰砂産地である陝西省と雲南省を訪問し、辰砂鉱石を得てこれを分析した。その結果、弥生時代後期の日本海沿岸の遺跡朱は従来考えていた中国貴州省産辰砂ではなく、陝西省産辰砂の可能性が大であることが判明した。さらに、遺跡および辰砂鉱石の鉛同位体分析方法を開発した。朱（硫化水銀）はその生成時に他の金属...
