概要中国において、経済成長と環境保全が両立する経済社会構造を模索するために、中国の地域別の経済・環境データベースと環境シミュレーションが可能な経済モデルを構築してきた。本稿における環境シミュレーションは、中国でバイオブリケット製造機が国産化され、石炭の代替財としてバイオブリケットが導入された際の経済・環境に与える効果とバイオブリケット灰がアルカリ土壌を改良し、食糧が増産される効果を計測したものである。シミュレーション計算の結果、バイオブリケットの導入によって、CO2とSOxの排出量は大きく低下するが、経済変数に与える影響は相対的に軽微であることが明らかになった。これは、バイオブリケットがクリーン開発メカニズム(CDM)の対象として適していることを示唆している。また、バイオブリケット灰をもちいた土壌改良は、今後予測される食糧難対策の一つとして有望であることが示された。
